Ingredients:
*2 cups of canned Coconut Milk (BRAND: Field Day - Golden Harvest or any health food store)
*1 tsp. of dried Turmeric (BRAND: Field Day - Golden Harvest or any health food store)
*1 tsp. of dried Ginger (BRAND: Field Day - Golden Harvest or any health food store)
*1/2 tsp. of Black Pepper (BRAND: Thrive - Thrive Market online)
*1/2 tsp. Monk Fruit Powder (BRAND: SweetLeaf - Golden Harvest or any health food store)
Instructions:
*Place milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Add turmeric, ginger, JAS, and pepper. Stir well if you are using the dried spices. Let the milk begin to simmer — small bubbles will form on the sides of the saucepan. Stir. Allow to heat for another minute or two being careful not to let the milk overheat. Continue to stir at this point to get better heat distribution. Turn off heat, cover, and allow the mixture to sit for ten minutes or so to improve the infusion. Strain the milk through a strainer if you have used fresh ingredients. Serve warm.
*Adding black pepper to turmeric or turmeric-spiced food enhances curcumin’s bioavailability by 1,000 times, due to black pepper’s hot property called piperine. By mixing black pepper and turmeric together, you increase your body’s absorption of the turmeric by 2000%!
